The UT faculty associated with the Interdisciplinary Watershed Minor program sponsored the 3rd Annual Watershed Symposium on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2014, in Hollingsworth Auditorium on the Ag (West) Campus of UT. This Symposium was supported by the participating colleges (Agriculture and Natural Resources, Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Law), and co-hosted by the Tennessee Water Resources Research Center (TN WRRC). The goals of the Symposium was to introduce students to studies associated with watersheds while providing an opportunity for interactions between academics and professionals working with watersheds.
The keynote presentation was by Thomas Wilbanks, Ph.D., Global Change and Developing Country Programs, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, titled: Is Climate Change a Problem for Water Resource Management in the Southeastern US?” Following the presentation there was a Panel Discussion with Tom Wilbanks, Ph.D.; Scott Gain, US Geological Survey; Gwen Griffith, DVM, Cumberland River Compact; Curt Jawdy, P.E., Tennessee Valley Authority; and Kelsey Scheitlin, Ph.D., UT Geography.
